Racing on the River Lagan
Belfast Rowing Club is delighted to invite your business to our Belfast Corporate Rowing Regatta event in August 2024!
This event is held over a four-week period in August 2024 and introduces your employees to the sport of rowing. It culminates in a Fun Race and BBQ Day on Saturday 31st August, where your crew can put themselves to the test against other businesses to see who will be crowned our Corporate Regatta Champions! Your crew can be any mixture of young or old, men or women, who want to learn a new sport, develop their teamwork skills, and improve their mental health and physical wellbeing!
Event Details
We welcome crews of between four to six individuals to take part in our Corporate Rowing Regatta. Over the course of four weeks (5th August to 29th August), we will introduce you to the sport of rowing, first in our gym on the rowing machines, before taking to the water! Each crew will have their own dedicated coach from Belfast Rowing Club, who will be their guide and mentor throughout the four-week course. We offer one evening session per week, teaching your team how to row in stable touring boats. These have a wider hull and will be set up for sculling – where each rower has two oars.
The highlight of your experience is Regatta Day on Saturday 31st August and will allow your crew the chance to compete against other Corporate Regatta crews. Races are head-to-head competitions, with each consisting of two crews racing side by side up the course. Each race begins just above the Governors bridge, with crews racing upstream toward Belfast Rowing Club (approx. 500m).
Pricing
Belfast Rowing Club offers two packages for our Corporate Regatta Experience:
- Single Crew (4-6 people): £499
- Two Crews (8-12 people): £899
We would be happy to discuss the Belfast Corporate Rowing Regatta with you and tailor our programme to your specific needs. Your support will help us to continue running the Belfast Corporate Rowing Regatta in the years to come, as well as our official events: Lagan Head of the River, Lagan Autumn Head of the River, and Belfast Sprint Regatta. In addition, your participation will assist us in promoting the sport of rowing both in Belfast and beyond.
