Rowing The Lagan Since 1842
Tracing its history back to 1842, Belfast Rowing Club is one of Ireland’s largest open clubs with nearly 200 members. From its current location at Hay Island in South Belfast, the club has trained Irish National Champions, Henley winners and World Cup medalists.
Belfast Rowing Club is always interested to hear from experienced rowers. We also hold adult beginner “Learn To Row” events to fit, healthy people interested in starting a new sport.

We are a friendly club that is open to all and dedicated to promoting the sport of rowing in Belfast and beyond.
Our membership is extremely diverse, with thriving men’s and women’s squads at junior, club / senior and masters level.
Belfast Rowing Club organise a large number of Head of the River and Regatta events on the River Lagan each year, attracting clubs from across Northern Ireland, Ireland and GB.
