Learning To Row
Rowing is a fantastic sport for getting fit, competing, and making friends. Belfast Rowing Club has introduced hundreds of people to the sport over recent years at all ages
Our junior program has been extremely popular in recent years and therefore our squads are currently at capacity. We are limited by both equipment and coaching capacity and we cap our numbers to ensure both the safety of our members but also the level of coaching we can offer each member.
Should we be in position to recruit new Junior members we will use our social media channels to publicise open days so keep an eye out for updates.
Each year we hold Adult Beginner LearnToRow sessions where we invite fit, healthy people between the ages of 18 and 35 to try rowing for the first time. Those who enjoy it can begin a 3 week trial membership where they will experience more of what our sport has to offer before deciding if becoming a member is right for them.
As a novice member of the club, you will form a squad and train alongside your fellow beginners, under the guidance of an experienced rowing coach to develop your fitness and technical skills with the aim of competing against other Novice squads across Ireland.
No previous rowing experience or particular fitness level is necessary, we ask only that you are fit and healthy and have an interest to learn something new.
These LearnToRow days are typically held in August/September so keep an eye on our social media channels if you’re interesting in trying rowing.
We are always interested to hear from experienced rowers who wish to join the club. We have active squads at junior, Club men’s and women’s and Masters men’s and women’s levels, and are particularly interested in hearing from experienced rowers, men and women, who are considering a return to competitive rowing at Open level.
If you are an experienced rower and would like to talk to a member about getting involved, fill out the form below and someone will get in touch as soon as possible.
